Cacao Nibs

Raw cacao nibs/cocoa nibs (same thing!) are nature's guilt free chocolate chips, packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and fibre. Add to smoothies, muesli, whole or ground in baking, or even experiment with making chocolate.

We take locally grown, whole cocoa beans, roast the beans at low temperatures for approximately 15 minutes, and crush and remove the husk to make the more convenient nibs.

The roasting of the bean is necessary to enable the removal of the husk, but we take great care to use as little heat as possible to ensure that the beans retain their raw qualities.

Growing area

Our cocoa beans are grown 25 kilometres from our base around Kattappana Town.

Storage and shelf life

Store in a cool place but not in a refrigerator in a tightly sealed container for a maximum shelf life of 6 to 9 months.
